Silverstone wins storage site development project
National chartered surveying and construction project management firm, Silverstone Building Consultancy, has won a contract to carry out enabling works for a new self-storage site in South Tyneside.
Silverstone’s associate director, Josh Brown, is leading the project which will involve works to facilitate bringing 50 storage containers into use as a self-storage facility – which is Phase one of the development.
The scheme, owned by Kal NE Ltd., is situated behind Tesco on the way into Simonside Industrial Estate in South Shields and recently received the green light from South Tyneside’s planning committee.
The works comprise grading the ground, installing new drainage and bringing utilities on to the site as well installing a secure perimeter fence – which is scheduled to take 16 weeks.
Josh said: “We’re happy to be supporting the creation of a new business and jobs in South Shields and are looking forward to getting started on site.”
Silverstone, on behalf of Kal NE Ltd, has appointed Evolution Design & Build to complete the works.
Silverstone’s clients include Hitachi, British Land, Leopard Capital, Glenbrook, Harworth Group Plc, Leeds Bradford Airport, The Inn Collection Group, Motorpoint, Womble Bond Dickinson and a number of education trusts.
