New design & build Co-op foodstore opens
Silverstone project managed the design and build of a new Co-op convenience store which has now opened in Pegswood, Morpeth.
The latest addition is part of the Co-op Group's continued expansion programme in the North East. The company has opened the store on the site of the former Pegswood Ex Sports and Social Club on Main Street and has created 15 jobs. It forms part of a wider redevelopment of the area.
Silverstone project managed the new 4,000 sq ft unit on behalf of Enviro Property Partners and it was built by Northern Structures.
North East commercial agency and chartered surveying firm Bradley Hall identified the site and acted on behalf of Co-op to acquire the new premises.
Director of Enviro Property Partners, David Pollard, said: "We are delighted to see the completion and opening of the new Co-op store in Pegswood. The feedback from local residents has been very positive and we are happy to introduce a new successful business to the area."
The Co-op Group revealed last year that it was actively looking to acquire new sites across the region with plans to open a total of 100 new stores in UK to strengthen its position as a convenience food retailer.
