Getting to know... Phil Bone

We are writing a series of blogs where we give you the chance to get to know a bit more about our staff here at Silverstone, today we asked Phil Bone a few questions...

How long have you worked at Silverstone and what is your role?
I have worked at Silverstone since February 2011, nearly four and half years.  My role is Chartered Building Surveyor, I work on a variety of projects ranging from building surveys and dilapidations to contract administration.  Recently I have been working on a number of refurbishment projects for schools on behalf of the Diocese of Newcastle & Durham.
What has been your best project so far?
The refurbishment of an industrial unit with office accommodation for Swagelok in Teesside, completed in December 2012.

The project was a comprehensive internal refurbishment of the property which included upgrading the heating system, reconfiguring of the office space and extending the first floor office area.  Other works included new suspended ceilings throughout, full decoration and new carpets in office areas.
What do you enjoy about working at Silverstone?
I really enjoy the environment at work, coming through as a graduate the level of support and education has really helped me develop.

I also enjoy the varied workload and services we provide for a range of clients.
What are your interests outside of work?
I have been a keen footballer prior to becoming a father and have represented Newcastle School boys as well as being part of the Newcastle United academy as a young age.

I also represented Whitley Bay FC in the FA Youth Cup.  I now play football when I can and still enjoy watching it.
